Inside Improvisation Series: Vol 3: The Jazz Line
By Jerry Bergonzi

Yet another set of tonal colours you can add to your improv palette.....bop scales. Basically in this book Jerry shows you how to build lines that flow and glide through chord changes. These scales give you that really close interval sound you've been looking for in your playing so that you can play long, fluid chromatic lines through changes. Topics of study include major bop scales, and various forms of mixolydian bop scales...some of them 10 notes long. He also shows you how to practice the scales using over the bar line phrasing and incorporate different rhythmic concepts. The book also comes with a play along cd with chord changes based on well known standards so the student can get the sense they are playing with a real jazz combo. Each tune is also recorded at 2 different speeds.
